About the Course: This add-on course on Independent Tailor (Basic) conducted by Malda College, Malda, believes that skill development is necessary for every students who want to earn their livelihood independently.   • Drafting and cutting the fabric
  • Carrying out the process of sewing for dress materials and common household items of textiles
  • Carrying out inspections and alterations to adjust corrections for fittings.
  • Maintaining health, safety and security in the tailoring shop
  • Maintaining work area, tools and machines
  • Drafting and Paper cutting
  • Drafting and Fabric cutting
  • The swing process

  • Seat capacity - 25 students per batch
  • Venue: Malda College Campus
  • Timing: classes to be held on any two days of a week from 11:00a.m to 12:00 noon

  • Drafting and Fabric Cutting
    1. Petticoat ( 6 cut)
    2. Salwar (Plain cut) and Kameez(Plain cut & Patiala)
    3. Plain nighty
    4. Blouse ( Plain cut & Bombay cut)
  • The Sewing Process
    1. Machine sewing
    2. Petticoat, Salwar and Kameez, Nighty, Blouse
    1. Needle sewing
    2. Running stitch, Hemming stitch, Button hole, Back stitch
