The Department of Chemistry was established in the academic year 1964. An eminent academician Prof. Biman Palit took the initiative to establish the department of Chemistry. It is first science department of Malda College and fulfilled the local as well as surrounding demand of the subject. Department of Chemistry is a well-equipped undergraduate department and each year more than 50% admitted masters students in Chemistry are from Malda college.
